Me and Mom Time

Many weeks ago, after school both Bailee and Karlee were telling me about their day.  Then Bailee blurts out, because she wasn't getting the attention she thought she deserved, "I need some Me and Mom time!"  That made us all laugh.

For Christmas that is was Bailee got.  Today we went and had a pedicure...her first!

Went to lunch at Chiptole, super yummy!  Then went to Yogurtland.  Bailee mentioned a few days ago that she has never had frozen yogurt.  Today I fixed that for her.  The flavors were super yummy.  We both had New York Cheesecake, you can't go wrong with that.  Then I had Snowflake Mint.  Bailee thought it tasted like Winter.  She's right, it really did.  Her other flavor she chose was Red Velvet Cupcake Batter...just like cake batter, no joke!  We had fun.  We laughed and relaxed and had some great food.

Thanks Bailee!! And yes, we will do this again.

more coke

I was looking at my pics on my phone and forgot I took this a few days before Christmas...in Walmart.  Since I have a thing for Diet Coke I couldn't pass up this opportunity.  :O)

relaxing

This week has been very relaxing.  We have been doing puzzles, playing Wii, Pictionary Man and Nab It.  All fun.  All from Christmas.  Luckily we still have many more days until we go back to the real world.  I wish we could postpone it.

Christmas Day

Today we slept in...until 6:30.  Kinz and Adam stayed the night which was great.  We didn't have to wait for them to arrive to open presents.

This cool present Kinzie is holding is from Brian.  He even wrapped it!  He doesn't like wrapping at all.  He did a great job.  He made her an afghan.  It's beautiful.

Karlee got a flat iron, some clothes and super cute boots.  She also got a floor lamp so she can read in bed and a gift card to Half Price Books.  She's kinda a book freak.
Bailee got some super cute shoes, jewelry, jeans and a gift card for "Me and Mom Time", as she likes to call it.  We're going to get pedi's.  Yay!!
Adam got clothes, trucks, a super cool chair, and this race track from Nonnie and Poppie.
Mason got a new bike, Lego's (his fav), Harry Potter robe and wand and a portable radio CD player.
Carson got Lego's, Toy Story 3 movie with Jessie, Buzz with wings, and Woody and Bullseye.  He also got a Harry Potter robe with a wand.
While Brian was making the afghan, I was working on this cross stitch.  Brian was able to work on the blanket with her around where I couldn't.  It would have been too obvious who it was for.  I didn't finish until Wednesday, kind of close.

I think Kinzie was feeling a little disappointed with Christmas.  Then Brian pulled out a card and sent her on a scavenger hunt for....a washer and dryer!  She seemed very excited.  Hopefully it will help make her life a little easier.

Lego's are quite amazing.  They aren't just bricks anymore.  I love the detail.  Mason worked on this for hours.

When I woke up from my nap this is what I found.  These two asleep together.

Brian gave me a beautiful wool coat, which I'll have to take a picture of one day.  He also gave me a laptop.  We have a limit of what we spend on each other, and often he over spends.  But this year he went waay over.  But I love it!!  And it's something I would never spend on myself.

christmas eve...firsts

I came across a cinnamon roll recipe that can be mixed in my bread machine.  It was super easy and we loved it.

Karlee making pumpkin pie for the first time.
And Bailee making rolls with Carson's help.

We lit a fire this afternoon.  We were freezing!!!

We went Christmas lights watching for the first time on Christmas Eve.  We decided that this house was too blue.
The next three our in Saginaw and the whole street has a theme.

This street was every ones favorite.  This house below was at the end.  The whole street seemed cheery!!
Then we came home to tradition...opening one gift.

Merry Christmas!!!

sailing in december?

I never thought we would be sailing in December.  A friend called us up this morning to see if we wanted to go.  We've gone with them years ago.  Today was a surprise, we haven't seen much of their family lately.

It was about 50 degrees out.  But it was even colder on the lake.  Gretchen brought hot chocolate to share.  We all loved it!

downtown

We went downtown for family home evening tonight.  It was amazingly warm.  We headed down about 3:30 and it was 83 degrees.  It's kind of hard to feel like Christmas in this warm of weather.  But I'd rather this than 38 degrees.  :)

When I told the kids that we were going to see Narnia this afternoon, Carson started to cry.  He knew he couldn't bring his sword to the movies.  That's how he watches it at home, with his sword and fighting whenever Peter or Edmund would fight.

With it being soo warm we decided to stand in line to see Santa.  I was soo glad, I didn't want to make a trip to the mall just for Santa.  Although, I have before.

These boys acted like they had their very own jungle gym while we waited.

Adam didn't like Santa so I didn't get a picture of him here.  We have one that they took.  Maybe I'll try and scan it in tomorrow.

We ate dinner at P.F. Chang and everybody loved it.  We have a difficult time finding a place to eat that everyone likes.   Tonight was a success in every way!
