pinewood derby

This is Mason's first time making a car for the pinewood derby.  He had fun, so did Brian.
Brian helped him shape it.

 I helped  him paint.
Brian couldn't make it tonight so Brother Frenzel helped with the weights.
Go Mason!!!

He had one race where they tied and so they had to race again.  It was very close, but he didn't win. :(  Mason was fine that he didn't win.  He had fun making the car and watching all the races.

Happy Birthday!!

Today is Adam's birthday.  Can you believe that he's already one!?!

Adam loves cars and trucks.  This one is a pull toy too.  Even his uncles think it's cool.

Happy, happy birthday Adam dear!!!

Adam's dad taught him  a new "trick".  When we ask, "How big is Adam?"  Adam raises his hands high above his head and we say, "Soo big!"  He loves it.  It's very cute.
The cake was everywhere.  Kinzie thought ahead and took off his clothes before the cake was cut.

Happy birthday Adam!  We love you!! You are a great blessing to all of us.

dallas temple

You know, we have lived here for over 7 1/2 years and this is the first picture I have taken of the Dallas Temple.  That's kind of sad.  We attend every month and I always forget my camera at home.  But not this time.

YW in Excellence

Our young women leaders always do such a great job.  Tonight's theme was "Happily Ever After".

For one project Bailee learned to rotate tires, on both vehicles.

Karlee worked on an experience that would help her prepare to attend the temple.

Our excellent young women!!
We almost didn't go to story time at the library today.  I'm so glad we did.  They had a petting zoo.  The boys loved it!!

I didn't have my camera :(.  These pics were taken with my phone.  It's better than nothing.

20th anniversary

In August I was browsing through a recipe site and came across this bus.  I thought, "that's perfect!"  This month is Brian's 20th anniversary in the school bus transportation industry.  All month I haven't really had time or had the privacy to make this.  (I didn't want anyone to know what my plan was.)  I didn't have anything scheduled today, so I made the cake yesterday and decorated it this afternoon.

Happy anniversary Brian!!
This might be my only chance to make a school bus.  Our kids are growing up, and I'm confident that Brian won't be doing this for another 20 years.  :0)

pumpkin patch

Shortly after the kids started school, Carson started asking about going to the pumpkin patch.  Friday we were finally able to make that happen.  I think he was more excited to go to the pumpkin patch than the fair.  :0)

Carson fits right in with his pose.

Carson took this picture.  Not too bad.

Here's all the friends we went with.  Not a usual group shot, but it works.

We had lots of fun.  Carson will be in Kindergarten next year, so I guess this will become a grandma thing.  :)

state fair

We haven't been to the state fair with our kids in years. So this year we got a wild hair and took them out of school on Thursday. They were shocked that we were going. As soon as we got there they found these cool trucks and had to take them for a spin. :)

We had never tried this "hands on farm" and the boys really wanted to check it out. Carson kept asking to go back through out the rest of the day.

While we were "farming" these other two had to keep themselves occupied...with food.

One of my favorites is the petting zoo. It's always packed with people.

On our way to see the horses we came across the Pee-Wee Stampede. We signed up Carson for his own stick horse. It was great. They all got a ribbon, and he got a trophy for "winning" the bucking bronco riding. I hope I can upload the video to show everyone.

After his event, he became a rodeo clown. Could they have picked anyone better!?! Talk about being in the right place and the right time. It was great!!

We also tried out the "backyard circus" for the first time. Can you pick out our boys?

I didn't notice until I was editing my pics that these boots also have the yellow rose of Texas. :-)

We did lots of first at at the fair this year. We watched a bird show that was amazing. I was gratefully surprised that I got a few pics that turned out pretty good.

Then we were off to the pig races. This pig weighed about a 500 hundred pounds. These men were having a difficult time making sure this pig went where she was suppose to.

We even saw flying pigs. The actually jumped over this board while they were racing.

This fun house was the kids favorite. Especially the boys.
It was a great day!!! Beautiful weather, great food, and a relaxing environment. I'm sure we'll go again.
