been thinking

I know this could back fire, but we are too young to be called Grandma and Grandpa. All of our grandparents are old. I think we need a fun, young name. Any ideas? Please let me know what you call your grandparents. Or what fun names, for grandparents, you have heard over the years. Thanks!

I am Mimi. Tate has TONS of grandparents so I needed to find a way for her to know who I am. She has Grammie and Papa, Nana and Abba, Grandma and Grandpa H, Grandma Joyce and sevearl other Grandma some one or others.

Other cute names I have heard "match", "mom-mom", "mimsie"

our friend calls his grandpa his "Big Daddy"...funniest thing I've ever heard. Kimball is now going to insist our grandchildren call him Big Daddy. As for our grandparents we have a Gamma Goat, Toad, and Granny good-nuts, none of which I would reccommend, in fact I don't even know how those names came to be, I'll have to ask.

Bradley has two Papa's. Also I have friends that use Grandmom and Granddad.

DH's parents didn't want to be called grandparents...it made them feel old so, until K, all the grandkids just called them by their first names. I didn't like that, so I changed it to Mami Rosario and Papi Otto. It stuck. All the grandkids call them that now. I guess in English it would be Mommy Rose and Daddy Otto. Works for us.

Wasn't Grandma Haws also called Nonnie by the older cousins? Or something like that.

My niece calls one of her grandmas G or gigi and her grandpa pop or poppy. Both are cute don't if I see Brian as a "poppy" though :)

I call my grandparents Nanny and Grandaddy--can you hear the South coming through?? My other grandparents were Grammee and Pa. My folks go by Bumma and Bumpa (something B. came up with when she started talking). We always teased my mom that the grandkids would call her Granny. She thought that sounded so old!! I'm excited to hear what you decide on.

My neighbor calls her grandma Mimi and step grandma Old Mimi! Totally NOT kidding. It is sooooo cute and really fits! Their family is awesome!!! The girls call my mom gaga Jill, which she HATES, which is why I reinforce it sooooooo much! I know this wasn't much help but hope you got a good laugh outta it!!!
