exhausted

I'm discouraged right now...my free space for pictures is full.  I wanted to share Carson's first soccer game.  I guess it will need to be without pictures for now.  I did go and delete 2008, it was harder than I thought it would be.  Don't worry, my blog through 2010 is all printed.  I love my books, but it's weird to delete something you love.  Hopefully, since I deleted some posts it will be updated soon so I can share the fun he had.

Anyway, back to our day.  It was great.  It started early.  Carson's game started at 9 and it was soo much fun to watch.  He really got into the game and ran and  ran.  When it was his turn to be goalie he didn't like it very much.  It doesn't keep his mind busy enough.  The other team scored 4 goals on him, but who's counting right.  ;0)  Only every parent there!

After the game Bailee had a job interview.  The manager told her that she could have 1 or 2 interviews more.  Our fingers are crossed. She is really trying to earn money for Paris but it's not happening fast enough.  She had to dip into her savings to pay her installment for February.

The rest of the day included, cleaning out the garage, replacing sprinklers, putting Christmas boxes in the attic (finally!),  making a run to the hazardous waste site, buying a pair of golf shoes so Brian can play in a tournament on Monday (he's not all that excited), buying paint for the upstairs bath, trimming trees, walking a dog, and trying to figure out how to upload pictures for this post.  (Can you tell I'm still irritated?!?)

I feel the best Saturday is when you drop into bed exhausted.  I think we did it today. :)

busy girl

This past week Karlee has been very busy.  On Saturday she attended a UIL competition where she competed in Oral Reading and Spelling.  I believe there are over 18 categories to compete.  She received 4th in reading and 3rd in spelling.  Overall her school placed 1st in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  WOW!!  I love the school she attends.

Tuesday night was her school's open house.  I usually don't attend the mid year open house, but this year was different.  The kids involved in band, choir, drama, and academic team showed off their skills.  I really enjoyed it.

Wednesday she had a UIL Choir Competition.  Her choir received a 2 on all three songs they preformed and a 1 on sight reading.   They did very well.

Tonight is her first spring tennis match.  It will be a challenge for me to attend the whole match, Carson has soccer practice on Thursdays.  It's hard to be everywhere I want/need to be.  But I'm trying my best.

21 years

To My Husband

still think you're hot.
still love your smile.
still laugh at the cute things you say.

still need your hugs.
still craving your kiss.
still love when you touch me that way.

still glad you call
to simply say "Hi"
or just 'cause you're thinking of me.

still like the way
I start out the day
with you as the first one I see.

park

This morning we received a text inviting us to the park.  The wind made it a little chilly, but the boys had fun.  So did I.  It was great to chat while they played.

I forgot my camera (that really needs to stop).  I hope you can see the fun they are having in these tiny pics.

I should have taken a picture of Adam on the slide.  It was a smaller slide but he was going down on his tummy.  He kept trying to climb up the slide and he would slip which made him giggle.  It was very cute.

guess what

I have a nephew (he's on the left) serving a mission in Hong Kong.  Last June I suggested to my sister, his mom, that maybe Brian and I should tag along when they go pick him up.  Well...we're going to Hong Kong!!!!

These past few weeks we've been talking a lot about flight dates and where to stay.  I was getting anxious and just wanted a decision to be made.  Yesterday we booked the flight.  Then today we decided on the hotel.  I can't believe that were actually going.  We'll also be spending another week between Xian and Beijing.  We really feel this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Thanks Brenda and Dave!!

now mason

Last night we put up another quilt and Mason wanted to give it a try.  He really enjoyed it.  Both Karlee and Mason worked on it before bed, then this morning before school, then again after dinner tonight.  I need to roll it tonight so they have some place to work tomorrow.

I may need to buy us a quilt frame.  Karlee thinks she would like to make a quilt for herself.  The idea is great.  I could help her with all except the binding.  But I know many ladies that would walk us through it, or perhaps do it for us. :0)
Something to think about.

father & son moment

I couldn't pass up this moment at church.  I had to grab my phone and take a picture.  It was so sweet.

A couple of weeks ago Mason mentioned that he needed a new tie.  His clip on tie was too short.  We went to a store and found out that all the clip ons are too short.  We got him a real tie.  He was excited.  Then this morning, Brian was already at church when it was time for us to get ready for church.  For some reason the girls knew how to tie a tie.  They did their best to help.  When we left it looked pretty good, but not quite right.  When we arrived at church, I sent Mason up to the stand to ask his Dad for help.

Dads are great!  Mason's tie was perfect.  This week we'll need to teach him how to tie a tie, or this could be a weekly occurrence.  ;)

full day

This time of year Saturdays are very busy, today was busier than most.  Our first basketball game started at 9am.  Mason's was right after in another town so we drove in two cars.  After the game we had a team party at CiCi's.  The kids love eating there, me...not so much.

Patty Cake
Shortly after the game I took these three over to the elementary school for a carnival.

While at the carnival Brian worked on this quilt.  A young man from church is working on his Eagle Project and Brian offered to tie a quilt.  Brian really did do most of it.  Karlee sat down and helped near the end.  I helped tack and roll.  Does that count? ;)

All the boys received haircuts tonight.
It's almost bedtime for the boys.  Yay!!
We still need to walk the dog.  A need not a want.
I'm hoping to sit down and catch up on our DVR.  Our favs...Grey's Anatomy and The Big Bang Theory.
It's been a good day.

Blue and Gold Banquet

Tuesday night was our Pack's Blue and Gold Banquet.  The cub scouts have been working on it for weeks.  The wolves started making a pinata in January.

Then with the help from an art teacher/friend, all the boys made maracas.

The big night.

The bears made this sombrero for our "mexican hat dance".

There were many activites to keep the boys busy.  It was a fun night!

Now back to working on our books.  I have two boys to help advance by the end of May.  We have our work cut out for us.
