easter morning

We still haven't found one egg.  :/

first haircut

Adam had his first haircut on Saturday.  He sat great...because he had a sucker.  That is the only way to get babies or toddlers to sit still.

Such a big boy!

egg hunt

I didn't know if I was going to make it to Carson's class Easter egg hunt today.  Mason had an ortho appointment that was scheduled 6 weeks ago, then Karlee had an appointment in the afternoon to xray her wrist again.  I luckily showed up about 5 minutes before they lined up to hunt.  Because of the misting all morning they hunted in the halls.  The kids didn't mind at all.

The kids were able to keep 12 that they collected, then Miss Kara give them 4 more because one mom brought over 40 eggs for the hunt.

I might be an over zealous mom. (Kinzie agreed with me.  So then I slugged her in the arm.)  Carson's teacher kept telling me that the party was very low key and wouldn't really give me a time when it would start.  But this morning I pinned her down with a time, told Carson I might not make it because of Mason's appointment but I would try.  One of the best things about being a stay at home mom is being able to attend the class parties and field trips.  I do all I can to be there, so I get a little frustrated when I schedule an appointment on a day like today.  I'm so glad it all worked out.

Tomorrow is Mason's class party.  I don't think an egg hunt though.

eggs

These eggs are already dyed!  Pretty cool.   These eggs come from Easter Chickens...  Yes, it's true.  Kinz brought some home from work that a coworker gave her.  Of course, I googled "Easter Chickens" to make sure she wasn't trying to pull a fast one over me.  ;)
Last year, I was going to make my Moms Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Eggs, but...  Bailee had her surgery, then my Mom passed away.  It just wasn't a priority anymore.  A few days ago , I remembered that I bought the unflavored gelatin back then and that I already had the rest of the ingredients.  So I made these for FHE.
My Mom made these when I was very young.  I remember the flour the most.  :)

By the time I got all the marshmallows in their molds, the last few were blobs.  Next time, I'll need someone to help me spoon them out.

I'm not a big fan of the chocolate covered marshmallow treats I buy the kids for the holidays.  But these were YUMMY!!  I had to start encouraging my kids to eat them so I wouldn't finish them off.  :D

pool party

This was not a typical pool party.  Monday afternoon, Brian calls to tell me that we're having a baptism in our pool on Tuesday.  So cool!!!  One of my first thoughts was...food.  I need to provide refreshments.  Of all the baptisms I have attended, I don't remember refreshments.  I guess when it's in a home it feels like a must.

Nick had a great turnout of friends.  At one point I counted 80 people, and they kept coming.  It really was standing room only, in a very warm house.  I didn't even think to turn the AC temp down earlier in the day.  :(

I wish I could have taken a picture of the ordinance.  It looked amazing with two men in white, standing in our pool with the amazing weather of the day.  (I believe the high for the day was 95.  The pool was 75. Perfect!)  I was able to grab a fast picture of a few people around the pool, after the ordinance. ;)

Carson...again

Carson gave me a compliment the other day.  "Why don't you wait to exercise when you get fat?" ;0)

I found some....

I thought I waited too long this year.  After the library I decided to go for a ride to find bluebonnets.  I couldn't find any and was starting to panic.  Carson said we could take a picture with the yellow flowers.  :)  They were pretty, but not a bluebonnet.  I finally found a beautiful patch...along a very busy freeway.
